How do I find your review of the NHT ST4 speaker?
Mike Ellison
You'll see the Archives
link located in the upper-right corner of the current equipment report. You'll find
all of the past GoodSound! reviews there. Here is a direct link to the
NHT ST4 review .

Can you tell me what GoodSound! review you have up
next? I am looking at purchasing a new system and trying to read all I can.

Our next GoodSound! review is of the
PSB T65 tower loudspeaker. It's a big system designed to fill a large room. If that sounds
like something you're interested in, stay tuned for the review, which will appear on June
1.
Reliability ratings?
May 3, 2005
Why don't publications like yours rate a product's
reliability? It seems to me that reliability is one of the most important reasons to buy,
or not buy, a new component. I'd like to see receiver ratings from GoodSound! that
address reliability. Thank you for a great website.

I agree with you that product reliability is a very
important factor. Unfortunately, a mere six to eight weeks of use -- the standard review
period -- is no indicator of long-term reliability. We do try and comment on general build
quality and how the unit performs in everyday use, which can give some insight on the
potential longevity of a component. But your best bet here is word of mouth. I've found
that by asking friends and talking to dealers you'll be able to determine which products
last and which break. I've often noticed that specialty dealers (those small stores
usually tucked away from the big-box stores) have little patience with products that
continually fail, so they may be a good source of information. Lastly, make sure you do
buy from a dealer that will honor warranty service if your purchase ever needs it, or can
repair the unit if it's out of warranty.
